3D-Micromac on the Way to Expansion
New Office and Production Building
3D-Micromac AG
On June 19, 2009, the new company building of 3D-Micromac AG on the Smart Systems Campus in Chemnitz will be assigned to its purpose as research and production facility of innovative systems for laser micromachining with a ceremonial event for employees, customers, and business partners.
Due to the increasing number of employees, growing sales figures, and a very good order book, Tino Petsch (CEO) and Jens Hänel (CTO) decided to give up the previous company location at the Technologie Centrum Chemnitz with its excellent conditions for new business founders and start-up companies. During the past five years, for example, 3D-Micromac AG could more than double its total turnover. The number of employees grew from 24 to currently 67.
At the end of 2007, in order to create space for further growth, the decision was made to build the new company facility on the area of the newly developed Smart Systems Campus, a technology and business park, which offers unique location synergies through the close integration between science, research, and industry. After only eight months of construction time, the relocation and operational start of the new company facility took place in April 2009. The usable area was considerably extended compared to the previous location. Office space has doubled, laboratory and clean-room space has nearly tripled, and production area for assembly of the laser micromachining systems has quadrupled. Great importance was attached to an economic, energy-efficient design of the building.
“With the new company facility we continue our steady expansion”, explains Tino Petsch, CEO of 3D-Micromac AG. “The additional production area, which was optimal adapted to the operational workflow, has already noticeably contributed to an increase in productivity in manufacturing. For this reason, we are in a very good position to convert customer enquiries in a very quick and flexible way.”
There will be an opportunity for a guided tour of the new facility on the “Day of the Architecture” on 27 June 2009.
